TACTICAL HANDGUN COURSES


 

INSTINCTIVE (CQB) HANDGUN – 1

The goal of the course is to teach the fundamental principles of instinctive, threat focused shooting including multiple target acquisition and rapid fire skills.

SKILLS TAUGHT IN THIS COURSE INCLUDE:

  • Basic Handgun Overview
  • Range and Handgun Safety
  • Instinctive Shooting Principles
  • Trigger Control
  • Reloading
  • Drawing from a holster
  • Situational awareness
  • Threat Assessment
  • Multiple Target Acquisition

STUDENTS WILL NEED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS TO THE CLASS:

  • Semi-auto pistol with three magazines, a holster and spare magazine holder (for two spare mags)
  • 500 rounds of good quality range ammunition (and a mag loader for loading magazines if preferred)
  • Eye and ear protection (preferably noise canceling / enhancing ear protection)
  • Clothes and shoes for shooting and moving on rough ground
  • Light shooting gloves (this will help as we will be inserting magazines and racking the slide hundreds of times in a day)
  • Ball cap or other hat with a brim to deflect flying brass from the shooter next to you
  • A good attitude wanting to be challenged and to have fun as you learn new skills

INSTINCTIVE (CQB) HANDGUN – 2

The Instinctive (CQB) Handgun 2 course builds on the skills and techniques learned in the Instinctive (CQB) Handgun 1 course and focuses on teaching students to shoot and reload on the move, increase situational awareness, clearing “tunnel vision”, shooting with partners and weapon malfunction clearing.

SKILLS TAUGHT IN THIS COURSE INCLUDE:

  • Basic Handgun Overview
  • Range and Handgun Safety
  • Instinctive Handgun Refresher Training
  • Shooting on the move
  • Reloading on the move
  • Multi-target shooting
  • Multi-target team shooting
  • Weapons malfunction clearing

STUDENTS WILL NEED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS TO THE CLASS:

TACTICAL HANDGUN – 3

This eight hour course focuses on medium and long range self defense handgun skills. At medium distances of 10-20 yards, students are taught to focus on the threat with both eyes open while bringing the weapon slide into their peripheral view, centering the weapon on the threat. At longer ranges (20-100 yards), students are taught to line up the front and rear weapon sights and when combined with proper trigger control (trigger weld) fire accurately at specific threats. Long distance prone shooting with a handgun is taught utilizing positions which minimize neck strain for accurate long distance shooting.

  • Range and Handgun Safety Principles
  •  Determining Dominant or Master Eye
  •  Multiple Threat Shooting
  •  Mid Range Self Defense Shooting Skills
  •  Threat Assessment and Situational Awareness
  •  Front and Rear Sight Alignment with both eyes open
  •  Long Distance Prone Shooting with the Handgun

STUDENTS NEED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS TO THE CLASS:

  •  400 rounds of good quality range ammunition (and a mag loader for loading magazines if preferred)
  •  Eye and ear protection (preferably noise canceling / enhancing ear protection)
  •  Clothes and shoes for shooting and moving on rough ground.
  •  Light shooting gloves (this will help as we will be inserting magazines and racking the slide hundreds of times in a day).
  •  Ball cap or other hat with a brim to deflect flying brass from the shooter next to you!
  •  A good attitude wanting to be challenged and to have fun as you learn new skills
